The saddest news

This is Ruthanne. I'm posting for Carla because her heart is too sad to even think about posting this.
Last night, Carla got the phone call that terrifies every parent---her sweet, beautiful daughter, Josi, had been killed. Carla will give you details as she can, but for now, please pray for this family. They were close to bringing Josi home and are as heart-broken as any family can be.
Josi's new birth certificate had just come through and according to Guatemalan law, she is considered their daughter and sister---but she has been their daughter and sister in their hearts for much longer than that.
We know that Josi is twirling and dancing and smiling in heaven right now without pain or hurt. She died knowing that a family loved her unconditionally and was preparing a place for her in their homes and in their hearts. What we didn't know was that Josi's Father was also preparing a place for her and she is in His arms right now. In the meantime, He needed someone with a big heart to love and care for Josi and there was no better woman for that job than Carla. She has a heart for parentless children like no one I have ever met.

Please pray for Carla and her family and comment here so that they can read your kind words when they are able to.

I am so very sorry. We will be praying for your entire family.

I have a daughter from Guatemala who is dying and so often I have asked "why"? I don't know why but I do know that I have a Heavenly Father whose love gets me through every day.

May you lean on the peace that passes understanding...

I am a woman of strong faith. Yet, since hearing of your news yesterday, I stand confused. So confused. I continue to pray with everyone else for so many things surrounding your terrible loss. But I find myself to be so confused. I won't stop praying until I get a breakthrough. And I know our God will give me a breakthrough. But right now, I just gotta keep praying for you.

This tragedy is hard to comprehend. Just know that many are praying for you and feel your loss. God makes all things right, rest in His comfort knowing she couldn't be in a better place.

Carla,

You don't know us, but we are the parents of two Guatemalan boys, aged almost 4 and 13 months. We were horrified to hear of your tragedy, and know that we have been praying for you and your family since we heard. We only know that what was meant for evil, God will use for good, and that your precious daughter is dancing with Jesus right now...

We will be praying...

Carla and Family - you don't remember me but we sat on the floor together 3 nights in a row back in April 07 with our beautiful adopted children. Me wiht my Caylie and you with Shay. I remember you telling me how much you wanted to adopt one more time and that you were working on changing your husband's heart about this. You did and I was so happy when I read that on your blog. I am so, so sorry for what happened to Josi. Life is so unfair and she was so close to getting out of Guatemala. God Bless you in this horrible time. My heart is heavy for you and your family and words cannot make anything better but know that Josi is no longer suffering and no longer sad and is in a beautiful place.

Dear Carla & family,
I am writing from Guatemala, I read the story in the newspapers and my family and I were just incredibly sad and shocked about it. I have no words to express how sorry I am for your loss. We will be praying for Josi, your family and the members of the foster family. My country is passing for some hard and scary times where you just never feel safe. I am so sorry this happened.
God bless you all.

Praying for you during this time of extreme grief, and expecting that good can come from even the bleakest of situations.

I have never visited your blog, but I must say your little girl was an angel on earth, and she passed knowing that her family loved her dearly.

God bless you all,
Sabrina Hill

Oh my goodness ... my heart breaks for you and your precious family! What a beautiful daughter you have! May she be bouncing and giggling at the feet of her Lord where in his eyes .. she was never fatherless! These are the times that we can not understand and know his plans ... and I don't think our loving God expects us to. All he asks is for us to place our trust in him and despite horrible and inconceivable circumstances ... we look to him to comfort us. Your family is beautiful and your little Josie was a gift!
Praying for you from San Antonio!

Hello Carla,
I am very sorry for your loss in yur little one. I dont know if we are somehow connected to the same loss. You see I recently found out that my Sister, her husband and her three little ones were murdered in a home invasion. All the details seem to match. Please if you have a moment if you can call me or email at your convenience. I just have so many questions that you might have the answeres for. Once again i know what you are going through and it hurts a lot but we know that our heavenly father is there for us and he knows what he gives and takes from us.

Your love touched her and what a beautiful gift that is. She saw the face of Jesus in you and felt His love. God be with you and your family during this time.

I am sooo... sorry to hear of your loss. I cannot imagine the pain your family is going through.

You all loved her dearly, even though she was not yet home. I know ... because we loved 3 children from Ghana for many months before they were home. Some people will not understand. Some will say things that are so insensitive. I will pray that God will walk you through this with His loving arms wrapped around you. He knows. He cares. He loves each and every one of you.

Hugs and Prayers!
